Hello; I traded some furniture repair for a gas pump and globe. The gentleman said the gas man said if you us nothing but DX gas and their products they would provide him with pumps, this was back in mid 50s. That globe I got has the original box with a postal stamp from 1957. I’ll be looking for a globe that match’s the add glass in my tokheim pump.
Thanks to JW55767 for reviving this thread. There are some beautiful pictures here. I don't have a backyard, but if any of you are ever in CT, Carter Hill Filling Station is on CT-66 a little west of CT-2 in Marlborough.
I just pulled this very nice original Wayne 60 pump from a farm in Oklahoma. Both sides have the faded remnants of a Col-Tex Challenger decal. The body has surface rust, but no rotted out areas or holes from rust. One of the "hips" on the side is pushed in slightly. The cast iron base is broken on one side and one end has a section cut out (can email or text plenty of close-up photos). The Wayne ID plate is present and easy to read. Inside, all the guts are still present and actually quite clean! I can deliver this to Iowa gas on the 1st or 2nd. $2250 cash or PayPal via "friends & family". Pump is in Wichita, KS and can be picked up anytime. Call / Text Don at 316-371-1828 or PM. Thank you!
I have a set of the Fire Chief and Sky Chief. They had sticky tape on the bottom and they were set on the pump. This was during the time when they had a program for blending their gas for the local area. These would have gone on pumps without globes. Note, your sign has the localized number for the area and my Fire chief signs do not. I only have ones with the number on the Sky Chief signs.
