Made it back with Dick from Iowa gas. It was a gas! Saw some of the must incredible collections going and coming home from the show. We came home with seven pumps and a load of parts.
Special thanks to Dick Bennett for giving me the guided gas pump tour. Will post pictures of the show soon!

Click this link to view over 90 images of Iowa Gas 2003 . Had a great time. Meeting with some of the Oldgas.com regulars was a treat. Wish you all could have made it there. Here's one that got away. I collect auto body & paint stuff like this, but this one was priced about 8 times more than any like it I have ever seen, even in perfect condition. Oh well, maybe next time. ------------------ Jim "Oldgas" PottsYour host and moderator

Jim I think those are the best pics I've ever seen of Iowa gas, thanks for the great coverage. Does anyone know if the Tiger globe sold? Just curious what it was priced at...................... ------------------ Have a Good One eh? Lance pogogas@telus.net www.pogogas.com [This message has been edited by pogogas (edited 08-15-2003).]

For some reason I think I remember seeing Bennett on the faceplate of that one. Quite the odd ball for a pump. I'll see if my pics reveal the brand/cut and get back to you.

The D-X with the rocket attachment brought 1,000 plus the buyer's penalty. Did not write down the Fosters globe.
Drive with Care and Buy Sinclair!! I buy Sinclair globes, signs, cans, ect.

Great Photos Jim! I heard about the Penn-Drake globe...Sure looks good. I'd have to sell a car or two to buy it, if the price I heard was correct! I guess that's one from my neck of the woods that won't be coming back anytime soon..

Ryan, That wasn't a bad price for the DX globe with the rocket attachment.....assuming it was in good condition. The globe itself isn't worth a whole lot. The rare attachment is. I've only seen or heard of a few selling in the 8 years I've been collecting. I'd say it was a bargain in the $1000 range. Sinclair Joe, What did the Penn-Drake globe sell for? Bob
