I have a Fry Mae West original Sinclair pump but I'm not sure what the correct color should be. I've seen red and silver. I don't think they had the green back then but I could be wrong. I found an old Sinclair emblem near the bottom of the body and have a 1925 replacement sticker to go back on it. It's also missing the base but I've seen them without one. Is this correct or did they all have the base and pump handle? Any help would be appreciated. If someone can tell me how to post a picture, I will show you what I have.

Go to the test area of Old Gas and scroll down thru the various posts until you see one labeled Image Shack Tutorial. This helped me the most. Looking foreward to your pics!

I plan to write an article about this within the next few months for "CTO" magazine but here are a few of the facts. The first Guarantee Liquid Measure pump, called the Fry was a remote pump. It did not have a pumping mechanism in it, thus no bottom, no handle. You had to have electricity to operate the pump which was inside the station or in another location. Later versions had a base attached which contained a pump for hand use. Here is the Tutorial http://www.oldgas.com/shoptalk/ubb/Forum11/HTML/000001.html At bottom of this page Hop To: Testing Area. Most collectors would rather have the base as both 5 & 10gal pumps are a bit top heavy. W/O a base I suggest you mount it to a piece of plywood or dummy up a concrete base.

Finally figured out how to post pictures. Was going to post more of my signs but picture uploading not very user friendly and my wife needs the computer. Notice the early Sinclair logo near the bottom of the base. Anybody hazard a guess on the correct color given the era?

Most uploading problems are due to file [picture] size. Most cameras are set to 300 dpi [resolution]& 20/22 inches wide. Reduce the dpi to 72 & width to 6-8 inches in your file Before uploading.

Depending on the globe and decal you plan on using either all red or all green or all silver would be the correct color to use.
Wanted: Gas pump globes:Sinclair & affiliates, IL companies. Ripple bodies. Anything Sinclair, Stoll, Pierce, 4 Bros. http://www.lastgas15.com/

Forgot to mention that I will be using the green stripe globe that was correct for that period as well. The sticker also has the green stripes.
