The model number on the erie pump I just got is 748 14. how do you get the computer to turn? I have soaked it wd40 and penetrating oil. I turn back and forth on the handle and it moves the numbers a little. I didn;t know if there was something special that needed to be done to turn the numbers.

Check to see if something is in the gears. Sticks dirt wasps nests & anything else could be causing them not to turn. If all is clear keep on soaking with WD-40 or a good rust penetrating spray.

I assume you are trying to turn the reset handle, Have you tried turning the shaft on bottom of VR ?

no I haven't tried turning that shaft. Will give that a whirl. all gears are clean and clear of debris.

Pull it out and send it to me $150.00 for a normal rebuild I have 5 in stock now  I will do more than get it to turn. ....check the lockout mech on opposite side of reset

Thats so cool seeing a computer come back to life. You make it look like new, there's a lot parts in there. Do you do watches and clocks?

As some one stated, check the locking mechanism, if that does not work, take the totalizer off then try it. This has worked for me several times.
