Hello All,
Does anyone out there have any tricks for cleaning the specific problem of rust/stains in the extremely fine spiderlines that form on porcelain signs when they get slightly bent? (no missing porcelain but the surface is cracked.) I'm sure many have run into this issue before so I wonder if any cleaning and or lightening methods have worked for you? I've tried soft scrub with bleach, by far my favorite porcelain sign cleaner, but it doesn't do much for this specific situation? I've also used soft scrub with steel wool with no success. I'm sure the cleaner would have to be a liquid that could penetrate the fine cracks and bleach them out some how, but I've never tried anything else besides the soft scrub as I don't want to ruin a pretty nice sign just for the reason of lightening a small area.
Let me know of any suggestions if you have them,
Thanks,
Darin

I have used buffing compound or a powder glass compound with water and buffer on some signs it should clean it up. I just buffed out some big scratches out of a 5 gal cylinder I got yesterday it looks great.

wipe sign down with thinner to remove any wax-
then apply a little pool acid...this will remove rust
