Surfing e-bay I found a Purity motor oil can for sale with the picture of a Nurse. Now a few years ago I bought a bunch of cans at a sale and they turned out to be wrappers. I compared mine with the can on e-bay and now I can see a lot of differences.
A wrapper on one of the other cans was loose, so I looked under to see what brand of can they used. I find a Lion Oils can that I have never seen before.
The hi-sky is an example with a wrapper. The lion can is what I found under the wrapper. Lion "95" Motor Oil from Canada. Anyone know anything about this company?
Thanks

The real can was far cooler than the wrapped version!

These Lion Oils cans actual contained "core samples" rather than oil. The problem with them sitting is lots of them rotted out. Best thing to do with these (when you find them full) is open them and remove the core. Really cool graphics. They were a big dollar can at one point, but then I heard someone found cases of them.
Always looking for Red Indian Tins, McColl Frontenac, McColl Bros., Buffalo (prarie cities oil co), Stellarene and other western canadian tins.

What kind of core samples? The back of the can talkes like the can had a high detergent oil for cleaning out deposits. Like Red Ram oil.
