That should be a typo, but you know how it is at an auction. Some people just have to show how much "stupid" money they have. It's impossible to value anything from auction prices, but somehow a lot of people use these ridiculous prices to do just that...
Wanted: Champion Spark plug, Shell, Pennzoil, Kendall, and Woco Pep signs...Dale Stephens

Nothing suprises me anymore at auctions. The other day I was at an auction. A pallet of 9 ECO air meters came up. They did it bid on choice. There were 2 on there that were complete, 3 more 70% complete and 4 that weren't much better than shells. This gentlmen won the high bid 1st time around for 700. He took the best 2. Ok a bit high but understandable I guess. 2nd bid went to 500.00 (same bidder won) and auctioneer asked him what one he wanted....he replied " The rest"....lol. so to be clear he paid 3500 for 4 shells and some beat up parts...lol. Anything is possible.
Mainly focused on Oilzum, Jenney, Harris Oil items & original paint gas pumps.

Not stupid people-Wealthy people who do not have the time to search down a sign and have an impulse buy...If your spending a couple hundred grand on a car ...a few grand on a sign is nothing... To you and I these prices are crazy.
