Just picked up this large Magnolia sign and was my first jump into signs. Sign is 12ft long and 22" tall. It is beat up in some spots, but is pretty neat because it is all embossed. Both of the Pegaus' are in pretty good shape and also embossed.
I have two Magnolene lube carts that I will put below this and maybe even do one of my gas pumps in Magnolia to match.
Any information regarding how to clean this up would be appreciated. I am also considering restoring some of the parts missing porcelin, so feedback on this would also be good.

I am also putting a post in the Value forum so your feedback on that would also be valued.

If the sign were mine... I would use a little mild dish detergent(like Dawn) to remove any "loose" dirt/debris, dry it with a soft rag (cotton diaper). And then display it...
I would not attempt to repair any damage...
But, that is what I would do if the sign were mine....

Is the sign really porcelain or is it painted tin? If it is painted, I wouldn't suggest doing any touch-ups as it is not easily reversible, so if you ever had to sell the sign it would affect resale value. Touch ups on porcelain are reversible and wouldn't affect resale, as much any ways. I would suggest leaving the sign as-is personally. Darin

Wash it and a little rubbing compound to remove the rust spots if Porcelain. I wouldn't use anything with a cutter if tin..

Many thanks for advice from everyone. Although the sign is porcelin, I appreciate everyone playing out both scenarios.
