I am curious is anyone would know the era the Standard Marine Products sign would have been used or have a picture of one in it's original location.

It is about 14' long and 34" tall

Thanks, Jerry

Just a thought. Not sure if this is in any way significant, but every can in every book I have always has the RPM logo on it. Even the outboard stuff.
Would the fact that this sign does not carry that logo in any way help date it?
When did the RPM and swirl logo go away? Did it ever go away?

I noted that the poster was from the west coast and assumed the sign was a Standard Oil Company of California sign.

I was under the impression that Standard Oil of California used the Chevron by itself during 1931 to the late late 40's. After that the three bar Chevron was accompanied by the word "Chevron".

The sign is from California, I have had it for 20 plus years and the gentleman that I bought it from said it came from an old boat repair shop that his company tore down in the late 70's.
that is all I know about it

Thanks for the comments
