Hey Guys,
A couple of days ago I posted about my former Chevrolet/Oldsmobile building that I would like to turn into my personal museum.
As luck would have it, I was at an auction yesterday and scored a box of NOS match books. The cool thing about it is that it contained Chevrolet and Oldsmobile matchbooks dating back to 1949 and there are matchbooks with advertising by all three of the former dealership owners.
Now I would like to display them (along with other advertising items I have found)on a wall and was hopeing for some ideas on how to do so.
Have many duplicates so I thought I could put them next to each other with one side showing the graphics (many 50's and 60's Chevrolet cars) and the other side with the advertising.
Any ideas?
Thank you so much.
Robert

If it were me, I'd put them in a shadow box frame on a sheet of matting that makes them stand out. Good luck! smile

A friend of mine displays his matchbook covers by hanging them over fishing line that is tied tight around a screw at each end. Sounds kind of wierd, but they look nice & don't take up much room. You might try a frame/art shop (Michaels, Aaron Bros.). They have some frames that I think are called "shadow boxes" that have some depth to them. Do you have any extra 1949 or 1950 Olds matchbooks that are dupes?

Tom,
I do. I have one extra Oldsmobile. Does not have a car on it, but says "It's FUTURAMIC! 1949 OLDSMOBILE" on the back.
Also has what looks like a globe with a ring around it.
Says "the new thrill" on the spine.
