One of the very first signs I ever bought when I started collecting was a Chevrolet Super Service porcelain neon skin. Shortly after I bought it, I located the other half of the sign. I always hung onto these signs and never listened to offers on them.

The time has finally come, and I sent them off to be redone with neon.

When completed, the sign will hang from the peak in my garage (picture below). But I have 2 options and am curious to what the OG community thinks?...

Option 1: Have both signs mounted on a single can, just like it originally was. (thinner overall, 2 eye-hooks, 1 cord, looks more original)

Option 2: Have each sign mounted individually on its own can, and just hang them back to back. (thicker, 4 total eye hooks, 2 cords, but allows for future splitting in case of an upgrade or relocation to a future wall mount)

.

Which option would you choose?
single choice
Option 1: Both signs on single can (70%, 19 Votes)
Option 2: Each sign on individual can (30%, 8 Votes)
Total Votes: 27
Voting on this poll ends: Tue Nov 24 2015 03:30 PM

I like the split for 2 signs as I think it's an easier hanging situation against a wall if you don't have the option for both sides. Also IMO easier to sell when day comes!

Thanks

I've thought about this very same question quite a bit, and I don't have enough items I've sold to give to give you good feedback BUT sold seperately on different cans will probably give you more money someday since the can isn't original anyway.

In this circumstance, you seem to want to keep it and the additional expense of two cans and harder wiring is a factor. In your circumstance I'd do one can, I'd probably add in the ability to mount it on a simple pole on the ground if you ever move and don't have that same high rough again. Having it possibly mount on a pole would let you display both sides in the center of a room and wouldn't add much expense to the can. You could cover up the hole where the pole would enter with a piece of sheet metal, but it's there for later use. My two cents..,.

Bryce, if it was me and I had the overhead room to hang it, I'd make it as close as possible to original. You can still up grade, just takes a bit of dis-assembly and reassembling.

You said it will hang at the peak? So both sides can be seen? Kinda' answers your question, doesn't it? smile

both sides can be seen regardless of how i do it.

if on a single can, or on individual cans. just if they were individual they would be placed back to back and each have their own support & cord.

my only reason for going the individual route would be in case of a future upgrade or a future move or change of display area.
