Does anyone know the history of this unusual Texaco sign and whether it is of American origin? It looks like an early prototype of the traditional 42" version. Any thoughts?

I don't know the history of this sign but theres a guy I knoe in Oklahoma goes by the name ok-signman , heres his Email, he knows everything about Texaco signs,

If you'll look in check the oil from January 2003, page 6 , high above the station there it is , the sign you don't know anything about ,the date looking at the car in the bay its, 1936-39.by the looks of the head lights on that car ,
