Hello all,
I'm a new user with a question for you. I picked up an old lubester recently. I cleaned and painted it, not authentically, but at least it is Standard Oil colors. Any how, my question is in regards to the little stamped steel piece that hangs on one of the long bolts that clamp the top and bottom pump halves together. Does it face in or out, and what is the purpose? Thanks in advance and have a good day.

Hi, welcome to old gas. I think you are talking about the bracket that the handle locks to, so it can be locked when not in use. It should go on one of the bolts near the handle and slid up the bolt to align with the handle and a pad lock hooks them together. Hope this helps. Don
