It is a Valentine Building, used for gas stations, and diners in the late 40's.

This one is FOR SALE for 3 grand, thinking about buying it... Kinda looks like my Wayne 60's... I think it would make a killer shop with the 2 pumps in front of it and the right signs...

This is a better picture off of the Kansas State Historical Society's web site. You would think I would be able to get a grant to restore this???

I would pop out the cash for it but I have already tossed out $5,000.00 this year on old rusty gas pumps... Any my wife has not even bought any new shoes... I am in the hole - that and I do not have a place to put it right now. I was thinking that I might be able to apply for a grant to restore this thing... I even talked to the Miniates that own a little sandwich shop in Lyndon Kansas about funding this restor project as a building for them to sell cold plates in... They like it but again, $$$ kinda stops them, no money to expand right now.

I can see the space thing being a problem.Don't look at it like you spent 5000.00$It's more like you invested it,better than money in the bank.LOL Your wife should be thanking you for being such a good invester.Don't let it go,in 10 years you'll be kicking yourself,I've done it to many times with cars and gas pumps\signs.I know what your saying, I'm sure we all have been there,as soon as you find something, something else comes alnog that you just have to have.lol Good luck keep us posted!

Everyone whats that pump! I like that Fry - heck I am using it for a parts pattern pump - having all kinds of parts made off of it. That one was NICE. I am talking to the Kansas State Historical Society's director about saving these buildings. That would rock to get paid to restore one of these... and put the wayne 60's in front of them!

Hi Travis,
what a beautiful building! I would just absolutely love to have one like it. Unfortunately too expensive to have it shipped over here... What a style! You can't find anything like it over here in Europe.
You should definitely try to find a grant from to restore it - that would be so cool!

Its all metal. Fine shape inside, but gutted... This would be an easy sandblast and re-paint...
