I was wondering if anyone had information about the size difference in the tokheim 39 short doors mine measure 2" longer than the new ones for sale and looking around the forum some seem to be 52 1/2 mine are 54 1/2.

Hi everyone I bought my first gas pump a Tokheim 39 short and wanted to get some infomation on the doors. It came with only one door and I need to buy another one, the one I have is a lift off with the glass bracket on the back and seems to be 54 1/2", two inches bigger than the after market ones I see on some sites.

THANKS
Rick

Sounds like your pump was a tall pump that was cut down at some point.

I had 39 shorts and one set of doors was a couple inches shorter than the others. The shorter doors locked from the center and lift off while the longer doors used hinges and didn't lock.

Humfleet. The Tok 39 has two different styles of doors. One style is hinged, the other is a lift-off type.

Rick, Tok 39s were made in two sizes, as were a few other pumps. In an attempt to "modernize" the tall pumps, a lot of them were cut down. Just like a custom car, with the body "chopped" or "sectioned", a small amout would have been cut out of the pump to lower the overall height.

Its likely that you will need to get tall doors, then cut them to the correct height.
