OK guys, I need some input here...I have been asked to restore a Boyle-Dayton to actually pump gas out of it..Has anyone attempted to do this with any visible with success??. I'm leary of this thing leaking at the cylinder base and in the pumping unit..Any suggestions, other than don't take on the project??> Thanks Warren

I haven't ever done it but others have and I can't imagine that our generation could not repair a simple hand activated gas pump with all the technology that we have available. Go for it!

Sounds like crazy liability to me. I would not touch that with a ten foot pole but that is just my opinion...
That is why the reproduction companies have disclaimers thier products are NOT intended for actual use...

Never did it, but have had Tok visibles with the cylinders still sealed and would pump. Having said that, I think that it would be a liabilty issue down the road??

Thanks, Phil

Having done hundreds of pump restorations, when asked about a working pump, I always decline. As said.....the Liability is too great for the return. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Thanks to all for the input...I have restored a Tok 39 to actually pump gas for the same guy...I took the pump, with all working parts, to a repair service in Boise, ID..they rebuilt the pumping unit and the register. the motor was fine. I actually watched the pump pump gas into large containers. everything worked as it should...We have not hooked this up to a supply at his location yet, so can't tell if its gonna work there...Now he wants a working visible. I think I will pass on this one,,,agan, thanks to all...Warren
