I just got this. Do i try to fix it or leave it?
Always looking for grizzly gasoline stuff, or any Montana gas and oil stuff.

I would leave it.... might do more damage trying to fix it.

go slow....and you'll be all right! I agree! Half of the cans in my collection have been improved with a little straitening. Some a lot!

I had a 5gal pail with the same problem years ago. I just propped the can lip against something catching it across the bottom of the lip with the bottom off the floor about a inch and a half (1.5") on an angle to the floor. I placed a round piece of 3/4" plywood in the bottom of the pail and then took a 4-5' length of 4x4" post and banged the plywood in the bottom on the pail in the same spot as where the top needed to be straightened back upward. It worked so well, it was hardly even detectable. Just a thought....
