Anybody recall a "Seaside Oil Company" that had a number of stations in California in the l950's and 60's. The first credit card I ever had was issued by them. If my memory is correct they had a corporate office on State street in Santa Barbara, stations throughout Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties, and ceased to exist sometime since then. I would be interested in knowing whether Seaside merged with or was bought out by another company, what history of it might remain, and whether the historic old Barsdall/Rio Grande station in Santa Barbara, which has been discussed on this site, was ever affiliated with it.
