Having a great time at Dixie Gas. Here are a couple of pics. Lots more to come. First one is a few of the Oldgas guys attending. A bunch more were too busy buying and selling to stop and pose. I'll add images of those guys later.

From left to right:
Jim "Oldgas", Rex "Kysoilman", Edward Tinsley, Gary Drye, Phil McCauley, Jerry J., Doug "Phoenix", Mike "Fins n vtwins", Dale McPherson "Hotboat", Bob "Lastgas15"

That's me with a few of Phil McCauley's pumps in front of the beautiful scenery across the valley. See the cows and the Smoky Mountains in the distance. The setting and the casual, friendly attitude here make this a different and most enjoyable swap meet experience. More to come...

Jim was too modest to tell you about the award he received at the show. The idea for the award was brought up by a long time Shop Talk participant and everyone that was contacted about it thought it was a great idea, and long over due. I was honored to be able to present the award to Jim after the group photo at Dixie Gas.

The award reads as follows:

On behalf of the entire petroliana
hobby, the members of
Shop Talk
present this
Certificate of Appreciation to
Jim Potts
for his vision and unselfish
contributions to the hobby.

Wanted: Gas pump globes:Sinclair & affiliates, IL companies. Ripple bodies. Anything Sinclair, Stoll, Pierce, 4 Bros.

No one deserves an award as much as Jim. It was a small token considering the amount of effort Jim puts into this site. Thank you Jim.

Looked liked a fun time for all, and I think an award to thank Jim for all he's done sure is a nice touch. Great job to all who were involved!

I agree, Jim was long overdue for his effort and long hours that he puts into this site. It was an honor to meet and talk with him and learn from him at the show. Congratulations on the award Jim. By the way, did Gary buy you guys dinner. Mine was great since he bought mine. LOL

Phil

Thanks, Phil

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support here and at Dixie Gas. That means a lot to me. The award was a nice surprise. I know there are a lot of people out there who appreciate the effort that it takes to make this site happen. It is not just me, but a whole bunch of people who regularly contribute time, knowledge and pictures to make Oldgas.com a place you want to come back a visit again and again. So thanks go also to the Shop Talk moderators, the "Of the month" and "Of the week" feature coordinators and contributors and everyone who answers questions and makes the Oldgas.com community a better place. You keep Oldgas.com on solid ground with donations, eBay bids from links we provide , Amazon.com purchases from our links and doing business with our advertisers.
