Did anyone attend this sale? It looks to me like some decent signs went cheap, just curious. As always the things that you expect to bring high did but some of the other stuff I thought would bring high did really poor. Any thoughts guys, I know it is an auction. If I had Gary Drye's money I could have bought a ton of stuff. LOL
Thanks, Phil

Phil, I attended the auction on Saturday. Their were some good buys if quality isn't a big issue. The pieces that were in good condition brought good $. Just my opinion. This Hayes pump was really neat. It brought $2800. Here is a link to the auction prices. http://www.aumannauctions.com/cgi-bin/mndetails.cgi?aumann15 ------------------ Scott Shipers WANTED: Jayhawk Oil Kansas City, Missouri

That Hayes pump is a cool one for sure. Thanks for the pic of the pump. I was kinda watching it yesterday & thought the same thing about the prices. I am on the same boat as you Phil about the cash

Thanks for the photos Scott, I too thought the Hayes cash recorder was very cool. It was so cool that my $2000 bid did not last very long. As far as condition, I buy the 5-6 condition signs as I can not afford the high dollar ones yet. As I get older and the kids get older too, maybe I can upgrade to the higher quality signs. Thanks for the info.
Phil

Phil, The Hayes had no dents in it at all and was in excellent condition. I honestly thought it would go for over $3,000. Here is the ID tag on it. Great pump for sure. ------------------ Scott Shipers WANTED: Jayhawk Oil Kansas City, Missouri

Ditto here too on the signs Phil. I would like to get the better ones also but the funds are not there as I would like. Raising 3 boys is the top priority here. I kinda see it to I can have a 2 or 3 average signs or 1 good sign. So the quanity factor goes in there. But latly I am starting to feel why spend the money for lower quality signs when I can have a one nice one. Just my feelings

I think the plane went for $300 and it was made of wood. I believe the seller worked for TWA and built it himself.
