Just got back from Roy Reeds bash. Drove 400 miles round trip in a day and my you know what is tired. These photos are so fresh that some of the guys you'll see are still down there enjoying the show (it goes on tomorrow too). Then they all head over to the Pomona Swap Meet on Sunday. Just need one of you computer literate types to post the pixs for me. Just give me your adress and I will send you the pictures so everyone can see them. Thanks!!!

Hey Hubba... post the pic with me and my hero!
Most of this stuff is in the Reed collection and will be at the auction. (the little stickers with numbers on some of the stuff is the auction number) There was some stuff for sale, the Gilmore sign was cool. It was painted on tin. (plywood backing) It was from the original Gilmore station in LA Circa 1924. $5500 firm on that one!
The other cool thing to see was all the Gilmore stuff inside the wayne 60 display pump. I did not see that last year.

Thanks for posting the pics. Alot of what you see indoors is Roy Reeds collection which was not for sale, but there was plenty to buy, especially signs. I made all of my deals out in the street with those guys in the one photo (Rob, Jeff and Dick). Dick sold me a nice Sel-Oil cabinet (still owe him $10.00). Rob is going to sell me a Tok 300. Elvis (Jeff) is leaving the state to move up by DJ Hubba. Nice show and a lot of these guys are heading to Pomona on Sunday with the left overs. My first gas bash, but definitely not my last.

For those of you old guys... that is Mike Ness, the lead singer of a band called Social Distortion. I love that band! Been my all time favorite for 18+ years. I don't know how many times I have seen them live, this was the first time I got to meet one of them. Who knew he was into gas stuff?
I was happy... you can see my smile coming through. I was trying to look hard, didn't work

Something is wrong with this picture????
Is that Dick with 2 of the 36b's that have not been scalped? Nice score guys, I'm jealous.
And thanks for the pictures C Cragg and Aqua Elvis. When Jeff gets up here we will see if he still wants us to call him aqua elvis after the winter rains we have. LOL

Great pics. It must be awsome to see Roy's collection in person. Wonderful pieces. I hate to see it auctioned off as I hated to see the Petroleum Museum split up, but decisions are made and life goes on. Looks like everyone is/had a great time.

Got an email from a member wanting to know where the bash is located. Address is 13785 Chaparral Ave., Fontana. Use mapquest for directions. Still time to get there today if you're up early and read this post. Would be worth the trip and you never know who you might see. Elvis met his idol and now he is planning on having all of the major oil company logos tatooed on his body. How will that go over in Washington DJ? Maybe he can get the wash off kind and they'll come off in the rain.

Maybe a Sunset logo above the "downstairs"? I'll ask Rachel.
