Here's my find. Got the lead a few weeks ago at a show and went to finalized a deal and pick up this "Wadhams" Mobilgas large shield shaped pole sign (68" x 68")on Tuesday. It is all there except the light arms and shades. Even has the decorative original cap for the electrical junction box for the top lights. The sign on the other side is very nice also. The antique dealer I got it from did some restoring of the framework.... but then never actually put it out for sale I guess because of the size of his antique mall spaces. It was in storage. I've tried to find a good complete one of these for many years. [This message has been edited by Mr.Wadhams (edited 07-25-2004).]

I have been working a lot for the past month which has cut into my "petro hunting" time severely. A friend called me yesterday and said he found me something, here it is; Kinda rough but one day I'll clean it up and see if I can change it from a 5 to a 7. The picture makes the sign appear a lot worse than it really is. This happens sometimes when I reduce the size to fit on the server. DOC, a pat on the back to you, this is a nice thread and you do a great job with it! GOOD LUCK GUYS and KEEP LOOKING! Neal [This message has been edited by gas pump freak (edited 07-25-2004).]

I havent been finding much stuff of late and it was a bit dry of late. Then about 2 wks ago a guy I buy plates from said he knew a guy wanted to possibly trade some early mc plates for a globe! So I figure hey that might look a bit cooler than 2 old plates, so I talked to the guy who is about 900 miles from here and we both were into it if we could meet up.
So this weekend he drives down and I end up with the globe (Texaco Sky-Chief in capco), sixpack of Chevron gas line nofreeze, plus enough cash to buy some rodeopop!!
Lenses looked real good, capco body a bit rough, sure hope the lenses are real!..LOL..looks better lit up than the plates did!! Dont have a pic but will try to get one.
The guy showed me some cool plate from BC, a 1940 single digit with a #1, and a 1945 with a 5 ..I think..prety cool plates!!
