Okay oldgassers, let's give this new topic a whirl! Whether it's a pump. a partial pump or something you're just not sure about, PUT IT ON HERE!!! Our degreed petro specialists will examine what you post and give their valued opinions of what's up. By the way, each member is a degreed petro specialist for the record! I was wanting to put a picture or two of something I wasn't sure about to get this new feature rolling but all of my mess has a name or number, DARN IT! Even if you have something weird that you know what it is but you want to test the oldgas geniuses, stick it on here! I am hoping this new feature will fly, this first month will tell the tale. If it does work it will become a quarterly affair that will pop up on the 21st. Please feel free to e-mail me any pictures you have, I will be glad to post them. Even though this is a quarterly affair it is perpetual, DON"T WAIT FOR THE 21st OF EACH QUARTER, POST IT NOW!! Go get em boys!

Bob's picture is of Gaspump Rob's SHARMETER. Model # unknown.
When Rob bought the pump, it still had the pump mech. That was the only ID. of what it is. Other pumps in picture [L to R], WAYNE 60 [Rob bought also], SHOTWELL, SHARMETER, MILWAUKEE.
Doc' picture shows the G&B 996 with the "SELL-A-VISION" attachment on top. It has a continuos tape with a message. Something like "HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR OIL LATELY" OR "FREE LUBE & OIL CHANGE WITH PURCHASE OF 4 TIRES" etc. etc.

Atta boy Dick. I knew you'd be the one that would know what these pumps are.
Anyone know the model number of the Sharemeter?
Anyone have a good picture of the advertising tape in the Gilbarco?
Jack Sim, can you help? Bob

Hi Bob, somewhere I have a tape out of a sell a vision that is in not to good of condition but I put it in between two very large pieces of clear laminate so I could measure it later to try and make another tape to put back in the 2 sell a visions that I have. If you are interested I could look around and find it to send you a picture. Let me know Don

HEY DON, THAT'S PRETTY COOL YOU HAVING 2 OF THOSE G&B SELL-A-VISION PUMPS! THEY MUST BE AS SCARCE AS CHICKEN WITH LIPS! ANY CHANCE OF GETTING YOU TO EMAIL ME SOME PICS OF THOSE TOPS IN DETAIL AND THE TAPE(S) THAT WERE USED? I HAD A FEELING THAT'S WHAT IT WAS, BUT THE PICTURE IN JACKS BOOK SHOWS THE TOP LOOKING A BIT FLATTER, SO HENCE THE REASON FOR MY QUESTIONING IT AND THANKS DICK FOR CONFIRMING THE I.D. ON IT!

Doc. The tape has round holes punched out in the shape of letters to form your message. My guess is that it took the operater about a 1/2 to 1 hour to change the tape, for a new message or to repair the tape. Dick

Well, Dick Bennett saved my weekend! I started at the front of Jack's book and had only made it past the D's and no luck. I suppose now I can do something more constructive like spend some time with my wife this weekend!!

Great close-up pictures, Scott! I wondered what that mechanism looked like. Could I add those pictures to the Vintage Gas Pump Album? There is a full pump picture of a Sell-A-Vision in the Gas Pump Album now. http://gaspumps.info/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=gilbarco There are more unidentified pumps in the Album's Public Upload Album . O.K. WHAT WAS IT USED FOR ? OOPS, forgot to draw in the arrows. There are 2 small holes in the top plate, the in/outlet is the small pipe at the bottom of cylinder. There are no holes in base under the cylinder. This is my 1st try at useing ImageShack picture hosting services. WOW ! SO EASY. After registering and posting my 1st image. My PC shut down. I reboted, clicked on their site, clicked on MY IMAGES, highlighted my image and copied it for pasteing here. SUPER EASY. http://www.imageshack.us/ [This message has been edited by Dick Bennett (edited 11-14-2004).]
