I GOT THIS FATMAN BANK OFF EBAY FOR $20. I HAVE BOUGHT THESE BEFORE BUT THEY ARE MADE OF A LIGHT-WEIGHT PLASTIC. THEY SOMETIMES SELL FOR UP TO $70. THIS ONE IS A HEAVY CAST IRON CONSTRUCTED IN (2) HALVES AND HELD TOGETHER BY A SCREW. HAVE YA'LL SEEN MANY OF THESE? MAYBE I JUST HAVEN'T BEEN PAYING ATTENTION.

I have seen 3 or 4 of these on EBay over the past few months. Having never seeing one before in more than 15 years collecting banks I suspect that it is of recent origin. The plastic banks were given out in the 1950s and 60s. If this were original, a cast iron bank would be from the 20s or 30s. Just my thoughts for what its worth.
