I know everyone has their thoughts on sign restorations....here are mine...
I believe it has to have these two factors. If the sign is very rare and the condition is very poor it is a candiate for restoration. Common signs and fair condition need not apply.
This baby was in the ground for maybe close to 40-50 years and was dug out with a backhoe....you can see the bucket marks and bent very badly at least 3 times!!!

Just kiddin' Paddy. Very nice. That will be the centerpiece of your collection. I look forward to seeing it when I get down that way.

The title of this topic led me to think it was geared towards Mother Nature.
I see now Mother Nature has some competition.
Great results!

That is almost like magic. Cool looking sign. Since it was hardly worth looking at before, you definately made the right choice.
What does the back look like on the finished product?

Since it is a pump plate the back was left unrestored to prove that it is a restored orginal. I have also been told if a sign is double sided you should only have the worst side restored.

I have a 1938 model 585 Wayne Stationlighter that I'm restoring and it has 1 bullet hole in the porcelain shade and 1 medium chip, I wonder if they could fix something like that? How would I contact them?
