I didn't post any buys lately but I have still been looking. I got these two cans off of ebay a few months ago. Dad had a small Four Brothers collection and when he saw them, he asked if they were for sale. He bought them at my cost then after he passed, mom sold them back to me. Sinclair bought out Four Brothers. The first can is probably from before the buy out, the second one after; Picked up this grease can from a friend of mine. I saw his collection once about 10 years ago. We still keep in touch by email and I have bought several things from him since. Got this next can at the Columbia show. I picked up a sign he wanted, he had a can I wanted. We both ended up with what we wanted at what I thought was a good deal for both of us.

I have been looking for one of these Mens rest room signs for a while now. Nothing special about it, just what Sinclair used back in the day. I owned 3 of the Ladies sign before, found this one on ebay. Got this Oils globe at Columbia too, thanks Pat Also while at the Columbia show my brother got a lead on this sign. We had second chance on it and the first guy passed. My brother bought it and we did some trading today and I ended up with it. I am thinking from the 1930's? Has a different logo on the back side

Nice Mobil Marine sign Tom!
Wes, any idea of the original use of that 2 sided Sinclair sign? I was thinking maybe it went on a delivery vehicle and would have the side displayed based on what they were hauling, gas or fuel/heating oil maybe? Just curious, maybe I'm putting too much thought into it, lol. It's just in my head in the usual situation a sign with grommets like this would only have one side visible at a time, not being a flange. Darin

Side #2 on that Sinclair sign, reminds me of the 14 inch pump plate like that!

I never saw a picture of one in use back in the day. I assumed it was a curb sign of some kind. I saw a picture of one in the Sinclair Collectibles book in a curb sign base but it was only using two of the six mount holes. I am still looking for an old picture. It is listed in the Oil Company Signs book in the bulk plant signage section but I would think it was used at point of sale loctations?

Been slow around here for the last few weeks. Did pick up this Frontier globe and this ad glass to match a globe I already have. Also pick up several of these Spur signs that were being used as a sea wall
Looking for any Alabama based globes and advertising such as Coastal, Rebel, Interstate Oil, Foster Oil (supertane), Mutual, Oil Well, etc...

Good couple of auctions with Tom last week. Got this cool, early Gill tin tacker labeled Shonk Works. Also this truly amazing, NOS, still screwed to the bottom of the crate, dbl sided, United Motors neon sign.
