Well this has been stuck on the outside post of my Fairbanks Pit Scale building for the Coal Company. It's been here since I was kid and long before that. One of the screws would not come out. I had to work gently after undoing the top screw to make room for a hack saw blade behind without damaging ( like that is going to really matter ) but finally it off the wall. I'll give it a quick simple cleaning and off to my den it goes. No more rusting. The thermometer still works great.

Man, what took you so long? Should have pulled it in years ago.

Steve, I guess when I was young and it was my grandfathers it didn't matter, when the place was my fathers it was his, I tried a few times but started to strip the screw head and it was pretty rusty already so I left it alone and I liked the fact it was the only item from the Coal company still attached from the days. In the 5 years I've owned the homestead the condition really is what it is.

But anyhow it's inside now!

Thanks,
David Conway
