The wifey and I have been collecting advertising, mainly signs, for about 25 years. Like alot of you fine folks out there, once in a while you stumble onto a great find and such was the case for me a while back. A small restoration shop that was having financial troubles decided to unload some of their "shop decor" and I was in the right place at the right time. Two of the signs pictured here I have not seen before. The big Amalie Oil can shaped sign is single sided tin over a wood frame and measures 3'x5'. The Hudson Oil pricer sign is single sided and measures a massive 4' wide x 8' tall! Any of you smarter than me collectors have any info on these?

I'd sure appreciate any info or thoughts you guys may have regarding these signs, especially the Hudson.

It's a cool sign but I think the only person who would be interested in the Hudson sign would be a Hudson car collector. Being tin does not help in value but they are very nice in condition. Sorry I can't help you out more.

I think your Hudson oil sign is from the late 50's / early 60's We had a Hudson oil gas station in our neighborhood , It was a low price leader. Recycled oil was their big seller. No garage , just a shack and two billboards on either side. I think they became the first self serve in the area. The gas was 29 cents when every one else was 33 cents I don't believe there is any connection to Hudson auto other than same name , but I did drive my Hudson in and buy the cheap gas , worked ok.
