The reason I think the shield might be repro is the ir date at bottom point and on the back looks like there are oven rack marks.

1st two signs:
Gargoyle sign has LAYING DOWN O's in word MOBILOIL.

SOCONY AIRCRAFT sign has NO details for Radial engine [cotton ball engine].

IMO the first two are REPO'S (for the same reasons as DB) and the pump plate is an original. Most "IR" dates from 1954 & forward are located in the center like this one. I have 3-4 marked like this. I don't think the "rack" marks on the back preclude it from being an original.
