Hello All, I am not an Ebay seller....in my 14 years on the site I have only bought. I was curious if an experienced seller could answer this question for me. I won 2 items from the same seller. Each item had a shipping cost listed of $2.54, so a total of $5.08 for the pair. I asked the seller for a combined invoice, since 99% of the time the shipping is a bit lower this way. The seller just sent me a revised invoice with a shipping cost of $11.00! When asking for combined shipping, can the seller revise the cost to whatever they want, or do they have to go by what the listings said as a maximum? Thanks, Darin

You have total control if you want to change the prices for shipping when you invoice. It shows what your auction showed and with me when there are multiple purchases, I discount the shipping before sending out an invoice.
Thanks Mike

They can charge what ever they want for shipping. I'd pay the individual shipping price and have him ship them separately for the 2.54 each in your case...

I've been a seller for a very long time...the only way a buyer can change the shipping price is if the seller has their settings set up that way to allow buyers to change the price. I would never do that as a seller. That said...I would also not change a $5.08 shipping charge to $11 either. They should honor the shipping price that was quoted because as a seller it's my responsibility to set either a flat shipping rate across the board or to enter the weight and dimensions of the package I'm shipping...I wouldn't pay the $11, I would ask them to change it to what was quoted in the auction or force the separate shipping...

Thanks for the replies gentleman....I think I will send an email to the seller asking where they came up with the new rate after combining the items. They are a new seller so may not know the accepted practices of combined shipping. Darin

Thanks for the info everyone...I heard back from the seller this morning and he stated he didn't change anything on the invoice (?) and ended up revising it back to the $5.08. The items were heavy and I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up costing quite a bit more than $5 to ship, so I'm curious to see the box when I get it to see if it shows the $ amount. Darin

I received the package today and it cost the seller $11.70 to send the items.....at least he stuck to his word and honored the original amounts. Darin
