had to google "standard-Vacuum" versus "Socony-Vacuum" I'm assuming that was the foreign name for the company looks a little too bright
others chime in with more facts?

Maybe it's just me, PEGASUS just looks Stubby/Chunky, not the sleek design like on other signs.

The Standard-Vacuum is a computer font, so I'm very doubtful it's original.
The seller doesn't seem to imply at all that it's real or fake. Just "A Nice Sign"
Collector of Illinois Oil Company, Iowa Oil Company, Round Outboard Motor Oil Quarts, St. Louis Gas Pumps, Double Cola, and anything else awesome.

...Iowaoil is right...it's 'eat up' with computer fonts...that sign's as fake as they come...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Standard-Vacuum was a 50-50 partnership between Socony & SO New Jersey. Existed from 1933 to 1962. Included all Far East facilities and businesses from both companies. Original signs like this are not all that uncommon, but my guess is this one is fake. The "dots" on the both the letter "i" are round on the originals, but square on this one. The font is also different on "Mobiloil". I wouldn't want it my collection.
