Dan McGuffey and I were talking about this the other day. Is this a "new feature" of Ebay where you can't even see what the best offer sale price is anymore? I think it's BS if it's a new Ebay policy instated to "protect the buyer" or some stupid reason. The best offer accepted to me is no different than the price an auction realized, it's what the item sold for, so why should it be a secret?

Good luck trying to figure out the reasoning behind anything eBay does. I'm glad I was able to enjoy (and profit from) the early and good ol' days, but those have long ago gone by the wayside.

YOU don't REALLY believe that?
ebay does NOTHING about Reported Items that are stated by sellers to be Old/Original/Vintage, etc.

A Noted Author on globes reported a Repop being sold as an original & listing is still up.

How many T-53's have been Reported? & EVERY ONE has been sold w/o a Pulled Auction by ebay.

Dick

If that customer that bought one of the repros decided it was not real and contacted ebay...the money would be out of the sellers account in no time what so ever. Ebay is out to protect the customers purchase. They do not guide people what to buy or care about repros. Ebay has control of the sellers money until the person leaves feedback or 90 days until the purchase is completed. If the buy said on the 89th day that somthing was not right with the item and that buyer had not left feedback yet....ebay has the authority to go in and take the funds directly from the seller.

It may have something to do with the value reporting site Worthpoint. 99% of the values reported on items searched are from Ebay sales. They charge $14.99 a month to see the values...otherwise you see the pictures. By the way....Ebay owns Worthpoint !!

This is interesting to think about- who really is "the customer". Their profit comes from the SELLER of the item - not the buyer. Listing fees, final value fees, and now Paypal fees - all adds up to close to 13% these days. Without the sellers, Ebay has no buyers. Obviously, they have forgotten this. I'm guessing that you are meaning they are out for the protection of the buyer - which I would agree with. Every change they have made over the years has eroded at sellers rights and profits, and swayed it all to the benefit of the buyer - and Ebay of course.

Yes the end buyer is the one ebay is protecting.

He, who holds the money is king. E-Bay could have a billion items listed and if no buyers than it doesn't matter how many sellers are there. No matter what business model you are looking at "Buyers" are more important then vendors. It's as simple as that...money talks and BS walks.
