Noah, I also think it is very pretty. Maybe even beautiful!! Some of us are just more secure in our manhood, and don't have to be as worried about our choices of descriptive words.

This is a perfect example of what I am not looking to purchase.
Did pumps look like that back in the day?

If anyone has original unrestored pumps for sale next weekend in Portland I might be your buyer.

Wow!! That thing is gorgeous!! GREAT job on the polishing!! That nozzle looks incredible!!!
Like hri asked, did pumps really look like this back in the day? I can't imagine pulling up to a island with two of these and a matching oil bottle rack sitting there.

Was there ever a "Penn Drake" gas brand? Never heard of it. Does this effect the value?

nice pump though.

"Did pumps look like that back in the day?"
Nope

Did '57 T-Birds have two-stage paint jobs back in the day?
Nope

Did Victorian houses have romex or drywall or UV protected paint back in the day?
Nope

I would love to see somebody take the time to disassemble, straighten out and reassemble an old pump then spray on a dusty, dull lacquer paint job, just as they came new.

The op's thread was about an extremely nice restoration, and I couldn't agree more.

Yes, that image was used by Penn-Drake - but in a 13.5" size only - and in orange and black, not red and black. (Reference PNZ39 on the new Globe CD)

As the seller states, these are custom-produced lenses and were done to the seller's specifications. Same for the decals.

Just goes to prove that if you start with a vision and work towards that vision - good things can come from it.

INHO - that is an outstanding pump. And I don't give a horse's patootie if it looked that way originally or not.

Later . . .

First, what a great FANTASY pump.

Second, I wish the seller had the picture of BEFORE so that one could appreciate the work went into it.

Lastly, isn’t there a forum for buying : Want to Buy Petroliana ?

There is a pump for everyone, and we all have our likes and dislikes. I merely pointed out what an outstanding job was done on this pump. No one I know would put an unrestored pump in there home or living room. Shop or garage sure thing. There will be plenty of unrestored pumps at Portland.
