John, my eyes are not the best! To me, the can looks as if it has a "paper label"? Is that correct?

I hope you did not pay too much for the can... Fake!
Sealed 1 Qt cans came into "being" in 1933 and like the 1/4 gal, 1/2 gal, 1 gal and 5 gal cans before them... The graphics were screen printed on...
That is why on early cans one has to ensure they take care in cleaning them... As the graphics will actually "wash off" if one is too "rough or aggressive" in trying to clean them...
Plus, Sinclair used that graphic design on their cans around 1922. (my research might be off, was it earlier?) First sealed Qt... 1933.... The time period, doesn't match up....

Yea I only paid $10 so I thought that if it's fake it's still a cool can, and that is a cool can.

I did a quick look through the one oil can book and it had a sealed quart dated at 1931?

John, for $10 you came out okay..
Since you thought it possibly could be "original". I take it, that the can is an "unmarked fantasy" piece,.... correct?

Wes, it could be...
I was basing my comments on the advertising I've seen...
Veedol claimed to have the 1st sealed Qt and they came out with it in Feb 1933... According to their advertising...
But, I've read other advertising that said "Oilzum" was the first to sell a 1 Qt sealed can...
