A fellow offered this to me for sale. I don't know much about Coke buttons. It is 36" and he said it was porcelain.

My question is: did they ever paint on the "Coca Cola" over red porcelain, because I can tell the white is not porcelain by the way it is scratched up? It sort of looks like the red might not be porcelain too (I haven't seen it in person yet).

Is this sign real or should I be worried? And if it is real does anyone have an approximate value? Judging from sold ones on ebay, looks like this one could go for around $300, however it doesn't say 'Drink" at the top.

Thanks for any help. Much appreciated,
Steve

I wouldn't give much for it due to its condition. These are pretty common. I value it, to someone who does not own one that thinks its cool, $175.00.

bcr2037, if you have any in similar condition for that valuation please let me know I'll take every one you have, I'm only a few miles up 385 from you.

From a collectors opinion, I would not purchase this button for $175 due to its condition. From a dealers perspective, I still don't see much meat on the bone if you purchased it for $175. I don't own any in this condition. The gentleman asked for a valuation, please let us know your thoughts carolinaskies.

Well lets take a look at what sold on ebay to give the gentleman an honest idea.

Completed auctions for 36" buttons

Personally I have sold similar condition buttons for prices from $225 and up at everything from flea markets to car shows.

Any Coke button in similar shape to the original post picture I'll gladly buy from you for that $175 or less mark, and if you run across worse shape I'd still be interested at lower prices of course. No need for you to pass them up then you can just get in touch with me via PM here. smile
