I have never seen that one before. But they did have foreign ones that they would not have in the states. It is a good looking globe though smile

I'm sorry but I believe you were sold a fantasy globe! There is nothing in Scott Benjamins globe book that even resembles this globe! I am fairly certain that it was never made for Cities Service in the US but I'm unaware as to what may have happened in Europe. Were there ever Cities Service stations in Europe? My knowledge ceases when you cross the ocean, maybe someone else will give some more information on this globe.
I will check with some others and if I find any good news, I will get back to you! Sorry I couldn't be more help!--KEVIN

I sent the picture to a friend in Canada that has just about all the Cities globes ever produced and he told me that this globe is a complete fake. He said they never produced anything that ever resembled this and its totally fantasy!

Thanks a lot guys for your replies especially to Kevin. I am almost sad because I bought it like an original. What I find almost strange is that this globe is not dated, it is heavy and thick and very nice. Another strange thing is why is unknown if it is a repro? Don't you believe that who produce repro globles has not interest to build few numbers, we all see repros everywhere each day on ebay/websites/pumps/etc… but not this one. It seems a non sense. Why?

Enrico, it could have been a limited run or one off fantasy globe. Either way that could/would explain why the market hasn't been flooded with them. It always hurts our hobby when someone gets taken. Either the person gets out or at least for a while, gets so "gun shy" they have no confidence in any item. Sorry it happened to you.
