100% positive feedback rating and 5131 items sold. Are you sure the sign is a reproduction? I didn't purchase it, and can see the touch up, but I'm curious how you can tell the difference from an original.

Well, for one, it really is crappy work. The letters are uneven, the font is wrong, etc. The biggest tip off is the placing of the hanging holes. Fake sign in question. Uploaded with ImageShack.usA real genuine sign. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

My understanding is that there are repops out there with the Veribrite markings. Perhaps someone can confirm this. Also heard there are legit ovals with no makers mark but they may be tin. I think this may have been on oldgas before.

I have not seen the repros with the verbrite marking. Mine says property of ford motor co and verbrite on one side of the sign. I have seen original tin versions with no markings. A lot of people on ebay are selling original tin versions and calling them porcelain. The 1st sign above looks like a repro to me. Coloring and font are way off. Here is my porcelain version:
