I've seen those on Ebay for some time now....big clunky pieces of junk, worth more as scrap brass than anything else. I don't know how anyone could think they were originals, especially with such a lack of detail. Another fake item that always bring too much money. I just shake my head, wondering why anyone would pay more than the $10 of brass they're made from, or why they would want one period!

There are a few sellers on ebay who have had this item along with fake door pushes, license plate toppers, fire mugs the list goes on...watch out a lot of random junk out there

But he never claims it to be an original piece. He underlined style and said:
"You are bidding on a very nice vintage STYLE of Mobil Oil Pegasus Ashtray . According to my research it was originally from the 1940's. Most believe the originals were a dealer or executive reward."

So he is very tricky with the wording, and in the item specifics he puts "hood ornament".

Dont know this seller and not having his back, just saying the wording is tricky but he never says THAT piece is an original
