Hi, Chris here, Cape Town, S.A.
I have been collecting petrol pumps (or gas pumps) for a year or so, a total of 13 pumps, have on-sold 11 of them, the 2 I kept both NEEDED restoring, since they were (well) beyond the patina stage!
They are a Wayne 505 Gasoline and a Wayne 605 Diesel pump, and are complete with all ‘guts’, I just had to fabricate 2 panels for one of the pumps, and then I fabricated the stainless ‘rubbing strip’ (panel-edge strips) for BOTH pumps since the originals had taken a beating!
Am now hunting a Wayne Duo, and a Wayne 501 Island oil can display, but am very unsure if these were ever imported to South Africa…
I imported the ‘contains lead’ signs, and 4 x 13.5 “ reverse-painted faces from Vic’s in the States, and got excellent service from them, too.
(I lived in Baltimore, MD for 3 years back in the 2000’s, and went to one or two a Petroliana shows back then, one I think was in Frederick?)
Anyway, am enjoying reading - and LEARNING - on ‘this here’ thread! Cheers Chris |
