Van de Kamp's Bakery ran a bunch of eat-in restaurants and also sold their bakery items in local supermarkets throughout Southern California from the 40's until the 2000's. These signs were mounted high up on the supermarket buildings, advertising that Van de Kamp products were sold there. I bought this as a basket case and have been working on it myself for the past three and half months but did have to farm out the neon bending. All new on the inside (wiring, motor, transformers, bearings, carbon brushes..etc) and since most the paint was missing from the sheet metal, that was repainted. The porcelain signage which in the front of the sign (bottom marquee, windmill body and blades) were left alone, just cleaned up. Got it mounted in the garage today, lights up and the blades on the windmill turn, thought I'd share.

Now there is a "sweet" rebuild. Couldn't resist the opportunity.
