Never seen one but looking at the handles and how it sits, it needs to be restored and filled with cans! So get going on that, LOL

Looks more like a bolt bin...

It does. The quarts fit on there side and roll down when taken out. The bottom has a door but hinge is bad.

That is an old battery charger or what is left of one...

Dale,
Tell us why you think it is a old battery charger.

I have an old battery charger that has the same shape as the cabinet on the one originally posted. I can get a picture of it with my phone and send it to someone that can post pictures on here, but I'm too old school to post it on here myself. The one Mr Wadhams posted is similar but mine has the same exact bends and handles. Mine is missing the gauges but still has the charging cables attached ...Dale

I have the same above charger that i am restoring and it is nothing like the one i posted. There is nothing missing on the one on posted and every compartment has a drain hole. So i cant believe that it was a battery charger makes no sense.

It possibly could be an oil can rack. When I saw it, I knew it was shaped just like my old charger. I figured someone had just converted it to a can rack. I can be wrong, not the first and probably not the last.
I've had two to contact me wanting me to email the pictures to them to post, but I can't email them. Can only send from my cell phone to another cell.....Dale

John- I guess it could maybe be part of a set? how many quarts would the rack hold? I wonder what the bottom compartment was used for? Does it have wheels?
Posted By: Tankar Re: Island Oil Can rack - Fri May 26 2017 01:31 AM
It has 2 wheels. The lower compartments hold more then the top 3. Not sure until i put some quarts in it.

It looks like there is a tag on the back of the white battery charger. Would help ID the maker?
It looks like the side pieces with the handles are identical, but the oil storage unit is wider.
I would guess the same maker , different purpose.

I would agree. Same maker

The battery charger was made by the Franklin Transformer Manufacturing Co. It is a Model 41 and it measures 13 inches between the shoulders. Hope this helps. In my original post, I should have said that it looks like it was made from a battery charger cabinet....Dale

I measured it today and it is 21 1/4" wide between the inside towers or uprights.
