Anybody have any experience hanging a globe from the ceiling? I'm trying to hang one so it clears the garage door track/railing and it needs to be a foot or so lower than if I mounted to the ceiling. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Should be a solid mount, no swinging allowed.

Never done it--but build a plywood box mount it to ceiling then globe to box paint the box color of ceiling. I would think that would work. I might not sleep well 1st couple of nights.GOOD LUCK!
