I have heard a couple ways do decide of this is real or not, one of them being the half dollar trick. As this is on eBay it's a little hard to do.The other trick is they don't have grommets. I'm looking for an original of one of these white crown signs. Here are the eBay numbers associated with the ones I want.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what the half dollar thing is. I have a theory I use on these. Based on it, I say the first one is fake and second is real. Curious to see what others say.

Thanks! What is your theory? Unless it's a secret smile

Also, here is a marine sky chief. It appears the seller has sold a few different ones ( all different in terms of condition). Maybe it's real, maybe it's not. Seller does have 100% feedback though.

Problem is the guys or girls bidding on them think there real so he probably won't get negative feedback until he is called out on them.

That is very true. With that said, are there any reputable sellers on eBay?

Steven C. probably doesn't want to post his "theory" here (his take on how to tell real or unmarked repro), because the fake sign makers/sellers have been known to monitor Old Gas to get tips that will help them make their counterfeit signs better and better. Just a thought. John
