One other Esso question...has anyone seen an Esso Door Push? I was wondering if this small sign (approximately 6” by 4”) had some other function. Has anyone seen one like this and was it used indeed as a door push? Or was there another use? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Anytime I see a sign either convex or a strange shape I think its foreign.

I say not a door push. What would it have been used for? I'm going with fantasy piece.

When I think of a fantasy piece, I see The Three Pigs driving down the road with gas advertisements or something in that realm. Many on EBay! Also the profit motive is there with the fantasy stuff. There is not much profit in this piece and the paint on the back looks like it was attached to a surface that at some point was painted.

I know that there was a lot of Esso overseas. I agree with Metro that a door push seems odd. However it’s size would lend itself to that. If it were used as a door push overseas...I might could see that. But if there is another possible use, I sure am wanting to know of those possibilities. I am leaning toward agreeing with Randy, that it is an overseas piece....but again.... does anyone know of its use?

Oh...you probably already figured it out...I am the fool who bought it. I had an uncle who owned an Esso station when I was growing up in the 50s and I guess I just wanted it for the memories.
