This is the blue cylinder. It has numbers inside & I've been told it is a 10 gallon visible.

The top, the inside and the handle. One side of the panel is in bad shape. That was the side that was in the dirt .

Other than what is printed on the pump I can't find out much about Butlers let alone this model #. I would like to narrow down the age. I'm old and it is older than I am. Are there websites or books that I can get information from? How long this model was available etc. Just any information I can get. Thanks

Hard to tell from the pictures without the whole pump shown, but is probably a Butler 71 from 1926. Very desirable pump.

I have seen pictures of 71's and they look very similar but can't find our anything about the 84. I appreciate your help and estimating the age. Did they ever sell sample pumps? That isn't the correct term but the family didn't have much money at all and their operation was small.

Interesting. I looked in the Gas Pump Bible and I do not see a model 84 listed. There was a model 85.

The 85 is a very plain pump that has no access door and is a toned down version of a 71.. would need a picture of the whole pump but maybe it's a version of the 85 but with a door.

Thank you for looking & posting your pictures. It really does look like yours. I wonder why the 84 isn't listed. Do you think we can get any information with the serial #?
