The hobby lost one of the true good guys this morning. Southern California collector Dave Ellis passed this morning. I got into the hobby 40 years ago and Dave was one of the first collectors I met. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met, always upbeat , always friendly and helpful to everyone. I have many great memories over the years with Dave. Condolences to his family...RIP my friend

I'm in total shock, Dave was a pioneer to the hobby dating back to the 70's and helped many of us with our collections
Dave was a member of the childs actors guide and played the double of Jerry Mathers on Leave it to Beaver
Dave graduated from jordan high school in '66 and was president of the Sultans car club of Long Beach ..
Dave will be missed by all - *RIP* .. ...

Dave Ellis is a name I can recall from the very beginning of my Petroliana collecting that started in 1984.
Truly an inspirational personality and all-around Good Guy.
He spoke a language that we all understand.
A legend lost. Most definitely an irreplaceable vacancy left in the hobby.
The World will never be the same.
