I plan on listing on ebay (when I get back from Thanksgiving Holidays on Sunday Nov 29) a full rack of oil bottles and wondered what the best way to package these would be. I thought about wrapping each one with paper towels then putting each bottle back into the rack (Minus the spout). Then place a piece of cardboard on the top of the bottles (by the way the rack is a short handled kind which sets below the bottle tops and duct taping around the whole assembly (around the top and bottom) thus preventing the bottles from coming out of the rack. I would then wrap the whole assembly in bubble wrap and place the whole assembly into a box along with the tops and fill with peanuts. Is this way acceptable or should I wrap each bottle separate with bubble wrap and box it collectively in a box with the rack? It obviously will take up more room this way and I wanted to get a weight from the post office prior to listing. Oh by the way I listed the rack on oldgasses for sale section. Thanks for any info you can provide on shipping these. John

If it was me I would wrap each bottle in bubble wrap & leave the spouts on. I would then fill the box with foam peanuts or lots of newspaper to set everything in to prevent a lot of movement. It will take up more room & time but will insure that nothing will be broken smile

If I wrap each bottle with the spout on with bubble wrap do I put it back into the rack or leave it out/seperate? It might not fit back into the rack with all the bubblewrap even if once around. Just wondering? John

I would leave them out.

A cardboard carpet tube works great for shipping bottles.

Hi, John. When I ship oil bottles out, I simply put a little newpaper around the spout, and turn it upside down into the neck of the bottle. Then, I run a small piece of tape securing the inverted spout to the bottle. This way, you don't have to package or protect a bunch of spouts separately. Best, John in Wisconsin
What DB says! It works great.

By taking a few layers out from inside tube, also works great for qt cans. Most carpet places will give all you want to haul away.
