Was anyone from oldgas lucky enough to get the wayne 756 off craigslist for the $800 or best offer. I missed it by a phone call. As usual day late and a pump short
That pump is now in my collection. Nice pump, glass intact, all I.D. tags. positive stops etc. and when I turned the crank, it worked! The guy selling it just bought the property and found this in the barn he is tearing down. One of the I.D. tags read F.D.N.Y. 576. The best part of the story is that my lovely wife saw this ad and made all the arrangements to pick up the pump, along with an aqua 455-E and a wayne 866, so I have her to thank for these pumps. Now she wants an addition on the house to display some more pumps in! She's a keeper!
Last spring, by mistake, I built an extra clock for a # 576 and still have it in stock if anyone is in need of a replacement unit for the Wayne #576. That's 576,,,,, yep.....576.... that's what the book says.....# 576.
It would fit but wouldn't be correct 576 is a single hand clock that goes from 0 to 20 The 730 has two hands and goes from 0 to 19.
This one is set up to turn continuous in one direction then will stop at 0 in the opposite direction. I never could figure out how to make a 21 to 1 ratio so I made them this way. It is a very simple design and is less $ than my normal clocks. The 800 series pumps have a 20 to 1 ratio clock
That was within striking distance of me and I missed it. congrats gas pump hobbyist. Does everyone google craigslist to get a listing of stuff for sale, or do you go on CL and do a search city by city, state by state? John
