Just curious, which Veeders were produced first the indented wheels or the painted wheels? Or were they produced at the same time?

I think they were introduced w/ the model #49...1949
or somewhere in that time area.

but they were changed out into earlier computers.
I have seen them in #36 and #45 models
check out Jack's site http://www.petrolianacollectibles.com/veeder-root.htm
the 45 has flat
the 49 has perma-vis

So it would be correct to assume that a pre 1949 pump would be more correct with a flat wheeled Veeder root?

They may have started putting them into the 45's after the lit. Jack has.

If you are doing a factory resto, silver background flats are the most common I have seen. Most pumps then used aluminum faces.

White is #2, #3 black, black mostly in the later ones,45,49
Some early computers had red tenths wheels some had pint wheels.

If you are planning on motorizing, use perma-vis.
