Radiator cover?

As Keith surmises is a "a winter radiator cover" for an early auto...

One finds them on Ebay occasionally...

Not sure why Shell didn't have the same shape as Pierce, SOCONY, Tydol.... etc...?

Some images of different covers:

The Shell winter front was for a mid 30s to early 40s car, that is why it is shaped that way.

The 1st 2 that Bob posted were made for cars w/ a Crank Hole at bottom of radiator shell [ie Model T & A, etc].
SHELL was made for cars that have a Grill in front of radiator.
